Introducing the 2026 Professional Development Symposium Schedule

We’re excited to share the official schedule for the 2026 Bakersfield ASSP Professional Development Symposium.

This year’s symposium brings together safety professionals, risk managers, HR leaders, consultants, and professionals from healthcare, public services, and education for a full day of learning, networking, and practical insights you can take back to your workplace.

With multiple breakout tracks, expert speakers, and valuable networking opportunities, the day is designed to give attendees the flexibility to tailor their experience to the topics most relevant to them.

What to Expect

The symposium will feature:

A powerful keynote session

Kick off the day with insights from an experienced safety leader who will challenge us to think differently about leadership, preparedness, and safety culture.

Four breakout session blocks

Throughout the day, attendees can choose from a variety of presentations covering topics such as:

  • Leadership and safety culture

  • Lessons learned from real-world incidents

  • Practical risk management strategies

  • Emerging safety technologies

  • Safety leadership and decision-making

  • Turning “lessons learned” into real operational improvements

Each breakout session is designed to deliver practical ideas and tools you can apply immediately in your organization.

Networking with safety professionals across Kern County and beyond

The symposium provides an excellent opportunity to connect with professionals across industries including construction, utilities, manufacturing, healthcare, education, and public service.

An exhibitor Area

Our vendors will showcase safety solutions, training resources, and technologies that support safer workplaces.
